Pioli plans rotation for Sparta Prague vs Milan

Lorenzo Colombo and Daniel Maldini could find space in AC Milan’s next Europa League match against Sparta Prague.

AC Milan have already qualified for the next round of the Europa League so, for Sparta Prague vs Milan, coach Stefano Pioli will make considerable rotation to give more minutes to players who have played less.

For example, in defense, it is possible that Andrea Conti, Leo Duarte, Mateo Musacchio and Diogo Dalot find some space. Leo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio have yet to make their season debut while Conti has played just 22 minutes.

In midfield, a starting jersey will certainly go to Rade Krunic, who will probably be joined by Sandro Tonali. Krunic’s performance against Celtic was disastrous so another first minute start could provide some much needed confidence boost.

After a long time without playing a single minute Daniel Maldini and Lorenzo Colombo could be given a chance in Sparta Prague vs Milan. The two former Primavera players have little playing time this season. In particular, Paolo’s son, who hasn’t made an appearance since the last match against Sparta Prague on 29 October. Colombo on the other hand has had more chances.

It is true that Milan still have the chance to finish first in Group H being only one point away from leaders Lille (playing away against Celtic). However, that goal could be “sacrificed” to avoid potential injuries for regular starters in such a delicate period of the season.
